ZARAN seeks to recruit dynamic and innovative individuals to fill the following positions:
1. Legal Officer
Reporting to the Legal Advisor
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct capacity building for HIV-related litigation
- Create awareness on key HIV-related rights
- Research and provide support for strengthening the HIV legal and policy environment in Zambia
- Conduct legal research and advocacy
- Participate in project planning, implementation and monitoring
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in law
- Preferably a holder of a legal practitioners certificate and experience in public interest litigation
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in human rights or public law
- Excellent training skills
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work in a team
- Experience with advocacy
2. Capacity Building Officer
Reporting to the Programmes Manager
Key responsibilities:
- Develop training materials on HIV & Human Rights
- Conduct training for different target groups
- Create awareness on key HIV-related rights and policy issues
- Develop relationships with other organizations on HIV and human rights issues
- Contribute to strengthening the policy and legislative environment
- Coordinate and conduct advocacy activities
- Participate in project planning, implementation and monitoring
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Social Sciences
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in human rights or HIV and AIDS field
- Excellent training skills including participatory training methodologies
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluency in English and major local languages will be advantageous
- Ability to work in a team
- Experience with advocacy
Employment Terms
The successful candidate will be offered a renewable one year contract with a competitive package. The candidate should be willing to travel around Zambia.
