Media Items ZARAN has produced a number of varied media items in order to publicise the work of the organisation and to increase awareness and understanding of the human rights issues relating to HIV and AIDS. TV Documentaries:‘HIV and AIDS and Human Rights’ (2008) ‘Keeping the Promise in the Fight Against HIV & AIDS’ (2007) ‘HIV/AIDS Human Rights and the 2006 Elections’ (2006) ‘Right to Life’ (2005) TV Discussion Programmes: ZARAN has used the medium of live TV discussion programmes with prominent panellists to disseminate information and encourage debate on key topics relating to HIV and AIDS and human rights. The following TV discussion programmes were aired nationally on ZNBC’s National Watch programme:
Radio programmes: Radio reaches a wide audience in Zambia and is therefore one of ZARAN’s key media outputs. ZARAN generally produces a series of thirteen radio programme which are aired nationally and locally over a period of thirteen weeks. These programmes have consisted of discussion programmes and more recently a radio drama. Topics such as the criminalisation of HIV transmission, child rights, gender based violence, disability and human rights, have been discussed in the radio programmes and have formed story lines in the radio drama. |
