Organisation Development and Governance (ODG)

The Organisation Development and Governance Programme is intended to build a solid organisation and help ZARAN achieve its vision of becoming an even better managed and influential HIV&AIDS and Human Rights Organisation.

It is also a realisation that ZARAN, in its organisational growth, has reached a stage where it now needs to strengthen its own internal operations in order to sustain the successes that it has so far scored. The mandate of ZARAN is bound to expand beyond what it did one or two years ago and this expansion should have correspondingly human, technical and financial resources.

Under this programme the strategic objective:

“By the end of 2013, ZARAN will be an effective and credible Human Rights Organisation with capacity to contribute positively to the HIV&AIDS response.”

To do this ZARAN will implement the following strategies:

  • Create a common understanding of the vision and mission statements of the organization among Board, Management, staff and members.
  • Strengthen the governance and management systems and practices of ZARAN at all levels.
  • Ensure sustainability of ZARAN’s programmes and activities by end of 2013 through a diversified funding portfolio.
  • Develop internal capacity to conduct effective planning, programming as well as monitoring and evaluation of activities.
  • Improve the individual and institutional capacity to effectively address and deal with issues of HIV&AIDS and Human Rights
