About the AIDSLaw Clinic

The ZARAN AIDSLaw Clinic provides free legal, human rights and advocacy support and services to people living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) who have experienced stigma and discrimination in the workplace due to their actual or perceived HIV status.

The aim of the Clinic is to protect the rights of PLHIV by directly addressing the legal, ethical and human rights issues facing people in their communities. We have worked primarily on cases of workplace discrimination in the past but are now expanding into other areas of the law.

Who can use the AIDSLaw Clinic?
If you are a person living with HIV and have experienced discrimination at work because of your HIV status then the Clinic is for you.  Please see below for details of how and when to visit the Clinic.

The Clinic’s focus is predominantly on workplace issues, however Clinic staff are happy to discuss any issues related to HIV-based discrimination.

Will I have to pay for legal services at the Clinic?
No!  The Clinic’s services are completely free of charge.

What happens at the Clinic?
When you arrive at the Clinic one of our Clinic staff will take time to get to now you and understand your situation.  All our staff have been trained in counselling skills to help you feel at home.
