ZARAN has conducted unique work in a number of priority theme areas such as: employment and work related HIV-based discrimination; health care and treatment rights for HIV-positive adults and children; children’s rights and HIV and AIDS; insurance and HIV; the criminalisation of HIV transmission; mandatory testing; and research, ethics and clinical trials Past projects and ongoing include: - The ‘Legislation Project’ – an ongoing project to consult on, review, and rewrite Zambian legislation so that laws adequately protect the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS. - HIV and human rights training to Judges, Magistrates, Lawyers and Police Officers - to sensitise them on HIV and AIDS, human rights and the law.
