Vision for HIV&AIDS and Human Rights in Zambia:


ZARAN envisages:

“A society which fully recognises and supports the role (s) and contributions of people living with and/or affected by HIV and AIDS to local and national development.”

“ZARAN envisions itself as a leading organisation in championing the human rights of People Living with, and affected by HIV and AIDS”

Aims of ZARAN

ZARAN has five core aims:

i. To conduct research into legal, policy and human rights issues of HIV and AIDS
ii. To carry out advocacy for the rights of People living with and/or affected by HIV and AIDS
iii. To conduct awareness campaigns of the most important human rights and legal issues related to HIV and AIDS
iv. To lobby for the passages of legislation and policy that will enshrine the welfare of people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS
v. To solicit government to implement the international guidelines on HIV and AIDS and Human Rights.

ZARAN Strategic Plan 2009 – 2013

In 2008 ZARAN underwent a detailed organisational assessment and strategic planning exercise, which culminated in the development of the ZARAN five-year Strategic Plan 2009 – 2013.

This document will guide and inform the operations and growth of ZARAN for the next five years.
